Sphaera, 2024
Sphaera is a diptych of medium-format prints resulting from a selection of high-resolution studies I created using the 3D extrusion technique.
In 3D modeling, the “extrusion” technique is a fundamental process used to create a 3D shape from a 2D object by “pulling” or “pushing” the 2D object along a path or direction. By extruding along a defined path or curve, or by varying the scale or rotation of the extrusion, complex and detailed 3D models can be created.
Each piece, measuring 40×40 cm, has been printed on “Hahnemühle Photo Rag Pearl 320 gsm” paper, a natural white, pure cotton paper with a pearl-gloss premium inkjet coating that produces exceptional prints—one of my favorite papers.
Sphaera has been produced in a limited edition of two.
